We were delighted to recently welcome our Patron HRH The Princess Royal to the Branch where she graciously assisted in the celebration and re-commissioning of the Marion Seagull from a Holiday boat into a Day Boat. The work was carried out by the Branch Engineering Team who spent some 6000 voluntary hours completing the project. Her Royal Highness met the Branch Committee, Engineering Team and Branch Members before boarding the Marion Seagull for the re-commissioning Ceremony. Two Members of the local Clergy assisted in delivering a Blessing and pouring some whisky from a Quaich before The Princess Royal unveiled a Plaque commemorating her visit and delivering a short speech. Following the ceremony, the boat departed on a short sail.

The pictures left to right depict the before and after views of the Marion Seagull followed by the re-commissioning by the Princess Royal and the short sail.
