We are delighted to announce that Stuart Rennie has been appointed as Chairman of the Ratho Branch of Seagull Trust Cruises, with previous Chair David Mieras stepping down to Vice-Chair.   David of course remains as Executive Chairman of Seagull Trust Cruises.

Stuart comes to this position with lots of canal experience.   He was Chairman at Linlithgow Union Canal Society for a number of years, is also on the board at Edinburgh Union Canal Society, and is a committee member at Scottish Waterways for All.   Stuart also has a considerable charity background and among other fundraising campaigns, is known for organising The Fife Ball, raising substantial funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign over a number of years.

Using a boating term, Stuart says “I am delighted to ‘take the helm’ at Ratho, and to get involved with such a well-established and renowned charity.   Bringing enjoyment to so many, its reputation goes before it.   A reputation that many charities aspire to, but very few achieve.    We have many wonderful volunteers at Ratho as well as the other branches, and I am definitely looking forward to getting to know everyone, and working with them”
